The Desert Island Band got its start in 2011 playing happy hours and jam sessions in local bars, mostly just for fun and bar tabs. We are an acoustic ensemble of singers, songwriters, and musicians who love to write and play our own originals
as well as our fans’ favorite cover tunes, from Jimmy Buffett and
Jerry Jeff Walker to Neil Young, Tom Waits, and the Animals.
Since those early days, we’ve added some fun events to our resume, like the
Phins To the West Horizon Stage, the Desert Sharks Parrothead Club’s
“Trying to Reason With Monsoon Season,” and one of our all-time favorites,
the Arizona Parrothead Club’s “Parrot Grande!“
"Keeping Our Day Jobs," our first studio effort, was recorded in 2011 at Four Door Studio in Gilbert, AZ. It is now available at all our shows, in the
Music Hut at BeachFront Radio, and on iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon.
We are very honored that "If I Was a Lizard," a single from "Keeping Our Day Jobs,” was nominated for 2012's "Top Trop Rock Song of the Year" on Beachfront Radio!
